Solarplate Printmaking Workshop
with DAN WELDEN
October 24 – 26, 10:00 am – 4:00 pm
STUDIO 7
Mitchell • Giddings Fine Arts
183 Main Street, Brattleboro, VT
WORKSHOP IS FULL
Please join master printer Dan Welden in a 3-day workshop, October 24 – 26, 10:00 am – 4:00 pm, at Studio 7, Mitchell•Giddings Fine Arts’ new, multi-use studio space, for a Solarplate printmaking experience that will bring your talents to paper. Previous printmaking experience is helpful but not required. The Solarplates will lead you to producing multiples and/or one-of-a-kind impressions. Monotype and Monoprint are adventurous and liberating creative processes, especially inviting for artists to free themselves from expectations, blocks and thoughts of uncertainty.
The first two days feature an introduction to Solarplate with Dan Welden, the pioneer of solarplate printmaking techniques. On day 3 each artist will have the opportunity to work independently to enhance or create new images, all while working alongside Welden as he employs his trademark style of applying a variety of media to the previously printed images.
Participants are requested to bring their inspiration, mark making tools and Caran d’Ache aquarelle crayons.
Please Call the Gallery to Register
Cost: $550 for three days, prepaid—cash, check or credit card
Inks and limited paper will be supplied, additional paper for sale by sheet. Solarplates must be pre-ordered 2 weeks prior to the workshop. Although 8X10 inch plates are the normal, larger plates can be ordered. Prices available at www.solarplate.com
