The Collages from the Sea are compilations of prints from the rhythm of the water surface. These works combine textures and materials from a previous series about the Horseshoe crab. This ardent inhabitant of the sea has existed for over 450 million years, surviving through the Ice Age. I became familiar and fascinated with the Horseshoe crab in 2002, when I created a mural with students Dowling College, Long Island. As those years passed, I focused on other themes such as The Woman Who Fell to Earth and Earth and the Mirror Ball. In 2015 the Horseshoe crab surfaced once again. Allusive forms derived from the Horseshoes as they swim. Now their infinite circle creates this new series.
